Problem
I have received the message "You have new dictations awaiting action" when logging into Lexacom Talk
Cause
Lexacom provides the facility for Type users to return dictations for review. There are two general cases where this is done:
- There is a problem with the dictation - for example, a word is unclear - and the Type user has returned the dictation for clarification
- The Type users transcribe within Lexacom and have returned the typed document for approval
Resolution
Dictation requires Amendment
If the dictation requires amendment:
- If not already shown, press Ctrl+T to open the Tracking & Review pane
- Go to the Review tab
- Select the returned dictation and press the Load (
) button - The dictation is loaded back into Lexacom; play the dictation and make any additions or amendment to the dictation
- In the Review Actions box, press either:
- Reject, to return the dictation to the Type user
- Unload, to keep the dictation 'Returned' and work on other dictation

Document for Approval
If there is a document for approval:
- If not already show, press Ctrl+T to open the Tracking & Review pane
- Go to the Review tab
- Press the green tick in the Document column (
) for the dictation to view the document - Select the returned dictation and press the Load () button
- In the Review Actions box, press either:
- Reject, to return the dictation to the Type user if the document requires further work
- Approve, to return the dictation to the Type user if the document is complete and requires no further work
- Dispatch, to mark the dictation as complete without returning the dictation to the Type user
